He made the remark when he received the delegation of the Commonwealth Secretariat, recently in Abuja, noting that it was not only exportation of goods but also export of services to the world. He requested the Commonwealth Secretariat to articulate the strategies that will make export of services an important segment of Nigeria's total export.

"There are quite a lot of services we can articulate and harness. We have a lot of talented Nigerians who can provide their services to the rest of the world in the area of finance, insurance, social services, legal and information technology, music and drama," he said.

He charged the Commonwealth Secretariat to provide the blueprint that will assist Nigeria to enhance export of services, adding that this was one of the areas Nigeria can increase her external earnings.
He noted that export of services have been haphazard, stating that a lot of our export are not well documented. He, therefore, sought for technical assistant from the Commonwealth Secretariat that will help to achieve the objectives of the ministry in increasing productive capacity, increase of non-oil export and decrease in importation of consumer goods.

In his remarks, the Executive Director/CEO Nigeria Export Promotion Council (NEPC), Mr. David Adulugba, pointed out that the commission has identified material resources in Nigeria and that they have been making efforts to export them but they had not ventured into the area of human services, which Nigeria has in abundance.

Earlier, the leader of the Commonwealth delegation, Esthera Aryada, had stated that they were in the country to study Nigeria's environment with a view to identifying sub-sector that are competitive and find out their constraints and make recommendations on how they can be addressed.
